Newnan Presbyterian Church will take delivery of a new three manual, model GX342 Allen organ sometime in the 1st quarter of 2027. The installation will coincide with the completion of the current, ongoing remodeling/rebuilding of the church sanctuary.
The town of Newnan was hit by a large, one mile wide, EF-4 tornado in 2021. The sanctuary itself suffered both immediate and long term damage in the form of wind damaged exterior elements along with long term rainwater seepage into the building. It ultimately became necessary to rebuild and remodel the entire sanctuary along with other parts of the building. The new organ will replace an aging two manual pipe organ that was not only difficult to tune but was in need of major restoration, which proved to be too costly to do. The organ also suffered from chambers that proved too deep for sound egress, resulting in the organ being softer in volume than it should have been. Entirely new chambers are being built for the new Allen organ that will eliminate this sound problem. Check back in the future for pics of this new installation.
