In December of 2019, First United Methodist Church in Baxley, GA suffered from fire and smoke damage within the main sanctuary due to Advent candles that had been left burning. Thankfully, the fire was extinguished quickly by the city’s fire department. As part of the rebuilding efforts, the church decided to replace their previous fire-damaged organ with a very large used Allen model R370 instrument. The organ was originally custom designed by the previous owner and includes a large, floating String division. This organ will be installed in the newly renovated sanctuary in May 2020.
